Song #400
Not The Same by Ben Folds and WASO
Whats better than a song about a guy at a party who climbed up a tree, spent all night tripping on acid, then came down in the morning as a Born-Again Christian? Probably a lot of things… but that concept still makes a great song. I always liked this song when played live the best. My wife and I saw him live at Saltair a couple years ago, and the way he teaches the crowd the three parts to the harmony to sing the “Aaahhh”s is really fun! This exact version is a really good one, even though this is the only song on this concert that he plays alone without the orchestra. If you get the chance, check out the other songs from this show. His music really goes well with a full orchestra. I’ve always loved the way Ben Folds injects a bit of humor into his songs. It shows you can be a brilliant songwriter, pianist, and also not take yourself too seriously. If you’ve never heard him before, do yourself a favor and give him a try. Everyone loves Ben.
This guy.
His show was just… words can’t even. Fucking amazing.

I think that we should settle down,
and live happily forever… after.

Folds picked one Korean pop singer that he was aware of ― female vocalist Younha, who appeared live on TV singing the Ben Folds Five’s “One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces” a couple of years ago.
“There was an artist named Younha that we saw on the Internet. She did a great live version of one of my old songs,” he said.
Ben Folds will play June 9 at 8 p.m. at Ax-Korea.

qwumparchive asked: I am from Adelaide and I saw Ben Folds the other day. He played Adelaide and it was awesome. I was talking about how awesome it was at school the next day and my friend goes 'Oh, Ben Folds? Oh, yeah, he was married to my auntie. I guess he's my ex-uncle."
Safe to say I flipped the fuck out.
Just thought I would let you know, for kicks.
How cool! I love that song. That must have been a great experience for you. :)
